Nothing short of a fantastic, Smithsonian-quality museum.
Florence Mayor Stephen Wukela

The Florence County Museum is a 28,000-square foot art, science and history museum built in Florence, South Carolina’s downtown cultural and historic district. The new facility houses permanent and rotating galleries, classrooms, support spaces, and features a center courtyard for outdoor displays and events. The unique facade allows the museum to blend with adjacent traditional brick retail buildings while presenting a more formal entrance facing the neighboring cultural buildings. The facility opened in the fall of 2014.
