This is a comprehensive renovation of an existing 3,200-square-foot regional airport terminal with a 3,200-square-foot addition, which includes economic development meeting rooms and pilots’ suite. The project goal was to transform the existing 1970’s brown brick terminal into a building that exudes the South Carolina Lowcountry for passengers and pilots visiting the airport while providing all the amenities visitors would expect in new terminals. The result was to add two additions and complete a comprehensive renovation of the existing 3,200 SF terminal that doubled the size of the original building. A large meeting room for county and city economic development as well as revenue generation was added and the pilots suite was expanded so the airport could provide the same or better services to private pilots as other comparable airports. As every face of the building was considered the front, the entire exterior of the building was completely re-imagined as a structure that greeted those entering the Lowcountry. WTS had previously completed a roof replacement maintenance project for the same building in 2004 and enjoyed returning to again serve the same client group
