As a Principal at Watson Tate Savory, Gene enjoys transforming Owners’ aspirations into beautiful, contextual, well-designed buildings. Gene has managed award-winning projects across the state of South Carolina including the City of Columbia’s City Water and Wastewater Facility , the Technical College of the Lowcountry’s Angus Cotton Multi-purpose Building and Midland’s Technical College’s Harbison Theater. He serves on the City of Columbia’s Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Committee and on the boards of the American Institute of Architects, South Carolina Chapter, and the Columbia Design League, for which he has served as president. He also sings in the Choir at St. John’s Episcopal Church and serves as Cubmaster for his son’s Cub Scout Pack. In his free time, you might find him building something in his shop, running with his friends, or relaxing in a hammock with his wife and 3 children (in their own hammocks!) in a South Carolina State Park.
