Prior to Watson Tate Savory, Michael was a Senior Associate with Thompson, Ventulett, Stainback and Associates in Atlanta, gaining a strong background in project planning and design. While with TVS, Michael served as project architect on a number of large projects, including the award winning 1315 Peachtree Office/Library in Atlanta and the 23-story Carillon Office Tower in Charlotte. Engaged in the community, Michael has been an active member and leader in the American Institute of Architects, the US Green Building Council and the Society of College & University Planning among other organizations. Early in his career he worked in London and later studied at the Charles E. Daniel Center for Building Research and Urban Studies in Genova, Italy.
